Natural Brazilian coffee is renowned for its low acidity, full body, and sweet, smooth flavor profile, characterized by notes of chocolate, nuts, and caramel, with higher-altitude coffee also showing subtle notes of fruit or citrus.

The Portuguese word ‘Sitio’ translates to “a small-to-medium-sized rural property or hobby farm”, and where most people would assume that most Brazilian coffees come from massive farms, the reality is; around 80% of Brazilian coffee comes from small producers, like Paulo Agualetti of Sitio Agua Fria. Most of these small producers don't have a direct route to roasters, so their product is usually sold to larger estates or co-ops, who then sell it as their own “single estate”, or blend the coffee.

Paulo’s farm is located in an ideal terroir, but it is his knowledge and experience of coffee, as well as his and commitment to his farm that produces the exceptional final product. Paulo grows and processes his coffee himself, with a little help during the harvest from his brother.  He is dedicated to his craft, and by connecting him directly to roasters he can be properly rewarded for that dedication

Cargo pride themselves on connecting small, professional specialty coffee producers in Brazil directly to UK roasters. Agua Fria is another outstanding coffee we’re extremely excited to launch, extending our awesome relationship with one of the best UK coffee importers.
