This delicious washed Peru coffee comes to us via Covoya and is sourced from a co-operative of 22 farmers, all members of the Aromas Del Valle co-operative based in Comunidad Queromarca, in the Callayuc region.
Coffee was only introduced to the sector of Queromarca 20 years ago, a sector known for its production of sugarcane, potatoes and livestock, and over that time due to the suitable microclimate, the local farmers have developed the production of coffee to its full potential.
The region of Callayuc, northern Peru, is a territory that features a typical tropical jungle with abundant biodiversity and fertile valleys in its centre. Its geographical conditions allow for the existence of a vast flora and fauna, and local producers cover the agricultural lands of Cullayuc with permanent crops and natural forests, especially with coffee.
The northern territories of Peru are known to produce sweet, very well balanced and creamy coffee profiles with typical tasting notes of stone fruit, chocolate, caramel and nuts.
